Love songs and food to love.

Sarah Mc Court ( Soprano) and Brendan Mc Court (piano) will be back on Feb 14th to entertain us with a candlelight concert of opera and love songs.

Some interesting trivia: Saint Valentine is also the partron saint of beekeepers 'charged with ensuring the sweetness of honey and the protection of beekeepers'.  Bearing this in mind our food focus for this event will be locally produced honey, including some from our own hives in the woods at Listoke.  We are thrilled to be joined by local beekeeper Eoghan Mac Giolla Coda and his award winning produce Lannleire honey.  Eoghan will give a short talk in the tearooms and will be available to answer questions on his craft.  You will also be able to purchase Lannleire honey on the night.

As with previous concerts, our promise to you is that you will be well fed, warm and entertained with music for the soul.  The format for the evening will remain the same as for previous concerts: Food in the tearooms with a cosy wood burining stove and a talk with a food producer, followed by intimate concert by candlelight in the music room and back out to the tearooms for coffee, dessert and a chance to chat with the performers

Sarah studied singing from an early age, continuing her third level studies in the Conservatory of Music and the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin, receiving First Class Honours in Vocal Performance in her Degree, Postgrad and Masters.

Sarah has vast experience in performing at home and abroad. As a Soprano in the prestigious Flanders Opera Studio in Belgium for two years, she sang in several venues including the Opera Houses in Ghent and Antwerp. At home Sarah has performed in the National Concert Hall, the Gaiety Theatre and numerous other venues.

A multiple prize-winner at the Dublin Feis Ceoil, Sarah's achievements include the Margaret Burke-Sheridan Cup for Best Female Singer. The Royal Irish Academy of Music presented Sarah with a Bursary for Sacred Music.
